Providence Crossing Masterplan
A redevelopment proposal for 2 mid-century modern office buildings occupying a shared lot of 5.4 acres. The Masterplan includes the conversation of the 4 and 5 story office buildings respectively into new ground floor retail and housing above. New community amenities include a dog park and seperate .5 acre public park which acts as the primary passive stormwater management mechanism for the site.
The Masterplan proposes 157 units of new studio, one bedroom, and two bedroom housing primarily targeting the adjacent hospital workforce. The site incorporates increased softscape ares and incentivizes biking and pedestrian connectivity in coordination with the City of Southfield Master Plan.
In addition to the newly designed landscape, housing, retail, dog and public park components, a new self storage facility is proposed in the rear of the site ensuring the projects long term economic sustainability.
The proposed faced and street level updates bolster the existing Mid-century modern design with a new cohesive identity.
